Utmost care has been taken of health, safety and environmental considerations in Nakhodka. A record of 3 800 000 man-hours was recently logged without a single Lost Time Incident (LTI). The total number of workforce at site passed its peak 2 435 in September and will now gradually decline towards the end of the project.
The concrete works for the caisson of the first of the two platform substructures, LUN-A, are finished, but inside miles of process piping with valves and equipment are put in place and connected.
Slipforming of the topside support shafts started six weeks ahead of schedule. The first on 16th September and the second on 30th September. Approximately one month later the same sequence of works will apply to PA-B, the other platform substructure of the contract (see comparison table below). Practically all concrete works will be completed by February 2005. |
